REVIVING HEARTS
RE-VIVE (verb)
to restore to life, consciousness, or strength; to give new life or energy, to activate, set in motion, or renew; to restore interest in or popularity of; to improve the position or condition of; to become active or flourishing again

REVEALING JESUS

Today, Jesus is still the hope for Lawrence, America, and the world. The heart of Rev City Church is to reveal Jesus in a way that revives hearts, restores relationship and brings life.

Family is God’s chosen analogy for revealing His love for us, and His desire to have relationship with us. As a church, we desire to help people connect to Christ-centered relationships for the purposes of friendship, family, and spiritual growth.
“Now, all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit, because of what Christ has done for us. So now you are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. Together, we are His house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. We truly believe we can change the world in Jesus’ name. Nothing is impossible with God so we won’t offend Him with small vision or limited thinking. The magnitude of our vision won’t keep us from taking the first & next steps, which are always the most important steps.

Christ-like servant leadership development is a key goal of our culture. More than just attenders and consumers, we will be contributors and producers of life-giving ministry and service to others.
We Love Our Church
Jesus died for the church and gates of hell cannot prevail against it. Strong commitment and connection to a specific community of believers brings life, relationship, covering, and strength to us.

With humility, grace, and honesty, we resolve issues in a Christ-like way to heal, preserve, protect, and strengthen relationships. It’s the atmosphere God can bless. Gossip, grumbling, fault-finding, and negativity are not welcome here…ever. What God is doing here is too significant to let trivial issues interfere or divide.
Submission and Honor
In a culture that increasingly despises and speaks negatively of authority figures, we embrace all that delegated authority is from God. Rather than negative perspectives, we see honor and submission as a posture that positions us to be empowered by God.
We Decrease So Christ Can Increase
We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers real people to bring the hope and healing of God to real-life situations. When we minister to others, we do it motivated by compassion, never to draw attention to ourselves.

With intentionality, we honor and value experienced Saints, while also raising up and releasing the next generation. If it stops with us, we’ve missed the mark.

We will welcome and honor people of every color, race and background to be a valued part of the Rev City Family. God created every person equally special, important, and significant.

Giving is a Christ-like lifestyle. We generously give forgiveness, mercy, grace, love, time – whatever is needed to reveal Jesus to others. Regarding finances, we faithfully tithe as the starting point for extravagantly supporting and building God’s Kingdom through our local church.

We value and honor one another in our unique giftings, callings and functions. You need me. I need you. We are a family. Each member of the family has a purpose and makes a difference in advancing our gospel mission.
